Dr. Rajan Mahtani Wins Prestigious Forbes Business Award

 


Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was recently honoured with the prestigious Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. These awards were presented during the annual Forbes-FIN roundtable conference held in Africa. The ‘Best of Africa’ awards have numerous categories, and Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was bestowed with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award for his significant contributions towards the banking industry which redefined it. The award ceremony is usually held in United States every year during the roundtable business conference which also coincides with the UNGA meetings. However, this year’s roundtable conference as well as ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony was held online due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was invited in the event as a honorary speaker and spoke about the significance of leadership in healthcare, especially political leadership for growth and development of the African nation. 

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was felicitated with the award during the event which was graced by numerous international business community members, policy makers, opinion leaders, political leaders and spiritual leaders, international investors as well as media partners. Mark Furlong which is the founder of the Forbes International & FAM (Forbes Afrique Media) anchored the event. 

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani accepted the award gracefully and thanked almighty god for his support and strength despite the various challenges faced by Dr. Rajan Mahtani throughout his business career. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is known for several successful businesses such as Mahtani Group and Finsbury Investments. Along with it, he is also known for his philanthropic and charitable contributions. Dr. Rajan Mahtani also said that he will continue to work towards the growth and development of the Zambian nation in years to come.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani finally received joy of relief and his patience was rewarded with the judge from the Court of Appeal effectively reversed the judgement of Lusaka High Court. This historic announcement was given on 31 st January 2019 during the morning hours of the court session. This judgement was for Portland Cement Zambia, a noted cement-manufacturing factory in Zambia which has been begging for justice from the government of Zambia for the past ten years. The case was first registered at the Lusaka High Court by Dr. Rajan Mahtani himself, claiming that the factory was illegally taken away from him. This is regarding the ongoing Portland Cement Zambia case between Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani and the Ventriglias. The case can be easily considered as among the longest running high-profile cases across the Zambian corporate environment.
