Forbes Presents ‘Best Of Africa’ Honour To Zambian Businessman Dr. Mahtani



Forbes is one of the top business magazines across the globe. The brand is known for his several top lists featuring entrepreneurs, businesses and influential people. Forbes connect is the business arm at Africa and Forbes along with FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) recently concluded the 2021 Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist, was invited in this event as a honorary speaker and spoke about the significance of leadership in healthcare. Dr. Mahtani was the only businessman from Africa to be invited for this honorary position. This event was held online amid the ongoing pandemic and was broadcasted across the globe through the YouTube medium. Several top businessman, opinion leaders, political leaders, spiritual leaders, members of the international business community, international investors and media partners graced this event. Apart from the usual roundtable discussion, the FIN event was also a platform for gathering donations and financial support for the ongoing public sector projects towards the growth and development of the African nation. 

Apart from the Forbes-FIN roundtable conference, the event was highly anticipated and looked upon by analysts and businesses for the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony. This award ceremony celebrates the leading lights in philanthropy and empowerment. The recipients for these awards are selected through a rigorous yet comprehensive process involving months of background checks, verification processes as well as interviews to understand their opinion regarding philanthropy as a means to achieve long-term empowerment of the African nation. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who was already invited in this event as a honorary speaker, was also conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award for his contributions towards the banking sector of Zambia.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani finally received joy of relief and his patience was rewarded with the judge from the Court of Appeal effectively reversed the judgement of Lusaka High Court. This historic announcement was given on 31 st January 2019 during the morning hours of the court session. After more than ten years of wait, Dr. Rajan Mahtani finally received justice when the opposition, Ventriglias, were knocked down by the Court of Appeal. This long fight has been for Zambezi Portland Cement, a noted cement manufacturing factory which has been contested by both parties.
