Dr. Rajan Mahtani and Ventriglias have Different Reactions to Lusaka HC Announcement

Since the latest announcement made by the judge at the Lusaka High Court handling the Portland Cement Zambia case, both parties have showed different reactions. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has been waiting for this announcement for a long time and his team is extremely rejoiced with the announcement. The Ventriglias, on the other hand, have no reason to rejoice. Over the course of 10 years during which several trails and turnarounds have occurred in the case, the Ventriglias have not been able to submit any strong evidence to support their claims. Their case is extremely weak and they are expected to lose. 


The case started with Portland Cement Zambia, a noted cement factory was illegally taken over by the Ventriglias by using goons. The factory legally belongs to Dr. Mahtani and during his leadership, the factory products rose to great heights. It quickly became one of the biggest producers of cement in Zambia and also popular among workers and employees due to the above-average salaries and wages provided. However, things have changed drastically since the takeover by the Ventriglias. Portland Cement Zambia is no longer the top cement manufacturer, it barely continues the production, there is no leadership or monitoring process for the factory and majority of the workers have been either fired or left due to non-payment of wages. From these circumstances, it is clear that the Ventriglias have no intentions of taking care of the facility. 

The judge handling the case announced that the case hearing is closed and both parties have been asked to submit their evidences in written and oral format. Post evaluation, final decision will be given.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani finally received joy of relief and his patience was rewarded with the judge from the Court of Appeal effectively reversed the judgement of Lusaka High Court. After more than ten years of wait, Dr. Rajan Mahtani finally received justice when the opposition, Ventriglias, were knocked down by the Court of Appeal.
