Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani Expecting Huge Win at the Lusaka High Court

The case of Portland Cement Zambia is known to all. It is a cement manufacturing factory, which, once upon a time, was a leading producer of cement in Zambia. It was owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, noted businessmen, visionary and philanthropist. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a proud citizen of Zambia and has been conducting businesses across the nation for more than three decades. While he has successfully established numerous businesses, factories and companies in the nation, he is also known for his charitable activities, including funding for events, sources and ensuring that the economic and social status of the country is increasing. Some of the top companies under his belt include Mahtani Group of Companies, Finsbury Investments, Finance Bank Zambia and Portland Cement Zambia. 


The Portland Cement Zambia was illegally taken over by the Ventriglias, almost ten year back. After that, Dr. Rajan Mahtani registered a case at the Lusaka High Court for legal takeover of the factory. The Ventriglias then defended themselves by saying that the shares owned by Dr. Mahtani at the factory are not paid for. However, during the course of the trial, the Ventriglias have not been able to share a single strong evidence to justify their arguments. On the other hand, the lawyers from Dr. Mahtani’s side have shared numerous documents such as signed shareholder’s agreement, financial exhibits, and independent auditor’s reports etc that succinctly prove that Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the real owner of the factory. 

The judge handling the current case has announced closure of the case hearing, which is good news. Along with, the final judgment will be made based on the evidences and testimonials submitted by both ends.

After more than ten years of wait, Dr. Rajan Mahtani finally received justice when the opposition, Ventriglias, were knocked down by the Court of Appeal.
